Enrichment
Programs
Elementary Enrichment: The elementary
enrichment program is designed to challenge academically
talented students in grades three through five. Operating
since 1993, this program began with the need to create
a Christian school perspective on giftedness. Following
a qualification process which begins in second grade,
students attend enrichment by grade level for one full
afternoon. Activities in the enrichment curriculum
are designed to stimulate critical, creative, independent
and biblical thinking.
Middle School Enrichment: The
middle school enrichment program is designed to enhance the
overall learning experience for students in grades six and
seven. Enrichment offers our academically talented students
the opportunity to study a variety of topics not necessarily
covered in the middle school curriculum. The students are
encouraged to think critically as they learn to articulate
their biblical world view. Certain projects require online
research and the use of MS Word, Excel, or PowerPoint. Starting
in eighth grade, honors courses are offered to DC students
which provide challenging and advanced coursework.
