Purpose
and Programs
 The
Discovery Center at Delaware County Christian School exists
to serve students who have identified exceptional needs,
which in addition to the regular classroom, require supplemental
services and/or accommodations. Discovery Center programs
encourage each student to become independent and successful
in the regular classroom and challenge each student to
fully use his/her God-given abilities.
God answered the prayers of both parents
and teachers through the provision of NILD educational therapy
when the Discovery Center opened in September 1980. Since
that time, a variety of programs have been added to serve
the needs of exceptional students. Current programs include:
- *NILD individualized educational therapy
(grades K – 12)
- Resource Rooms (grades 2 – 12)
- *Enrichment (gifted and talented classes,
grades 3 – 7)
- *TEACH (early intervention, grades K & 1)
- Psycho-educational Evaluations
- Documentation and implementation of IEP and 504 plans
*Program enrollment is dependent upon testing or screening.
Additional tuition is charged for all Discovery Center programs.
