Rooms
Elementary Resource Room: The elementary
resource room provides three levels of support to students
in grades two through five. Small groups which emphasize
the development of foundational skills in reading and
math are offered to second and third graders. In addition
to remedial reading and math groups, students in grades
four and five may also receive help with test preparation
and test-taking skills through the learning support
program. A third level of support provides individualized
accommodations and modifications to the curriculum
as called for by a student's IEP or 504 plan.
Middle School/High School Resource
Room: DC’s upper campus resource room programs
emphasize academic and spiritual growth while developing
independent study skills. Small group instruction and individualized
help is given in organization, note-taking, and thinking
and study skills. Reinforcement of new concepts and review
for tests are regular components of the resource room schedule.
Students receive assistance with establishing short and
long-term goals, planning for long-term assignments, test
preparation and organization of time and materials. Weekly
assignments, tests, projects, grades and missing late work
are available to parents and students on Edline, at www.edline.net.
