SEARCH
and TEACH
SEARCH & TEACH is an early intervention program developed to meet the needs
of young learners before they experience the frustration of learning failure.
SEARCH & TEACH identify and stimulate perceptual weaknesses in visual
and/or auditory processing, directionality, or difficulty with gross and/or
fine motor
activities.
SEARCH is the tool used, usually at the
start of Kindergarten, to assess a student’s strengths
as well as weaknesses. It helps to identify children who
may be at risk of not achieving the success that should be
expected for them in school. TEACH is an instructional plan
that allows the educator to develop an individual profile
and program of educational activities for the weaknesses
identified by the SEARCH scan.
SEARCH & TEACH is primarily a kindergarten and first
grade intervention program of the Discovery Center. TEACH
therapists receive specialized training from the National
Institute for Learning Development (NILD).
