The foundation for the Delaware County Christian School
dress policy is written in a separate document entitled Philosophy
of Dress. All students are expected to follow these
guidelines while on the school campuses during the school
day, and on field trips unless directed otherwise. Special
dress days (i.e., jeans days) will be announced by division
administrators as desired. All clothing is to be purchased
from Flynn and O’Hara, Land’s End, J & K
Sportswear, or selected items from the Athletic Department/Knight
Guard. As we announced last year, shirts are to be purchased through our vendors only. Flynn and O’Hara embroider our shirts with the DC logo. Shirts from Land’s End are not required to have the school logo on them. The
Elementary Campus allows any DC logo sweatshirts. The
administration
will make
the final determination regarding suitability of garments. In
addition, the following guidelines apply:
Important Note: The Dress Code for the Elementary Division is the same for the 2008-2009 school year as it was for the 2007-2008 school year. However, on September 1, 2009 the Elementary Dress Code will conform to the Middle School and High School in that all shirts must be from one of the two designated vendors. This one year delay in the implementation of the vendor requirement for shirts will allow for the use of hand-me-downs during the 2008-2009 school year at the Elementary School only. New items purchased with the intent of using them on and after September 1, 2009 at the Elementary School should be purchased from the designated vendors, Lands’ End and Flynn and O’Hara.

Discipline
It is the expectation of the school that parents will insist
on compliance with these rules from their children and
that parents will support the faculty and administration
when infractions are brought to their attention.
High School discipline procedures for dress code violations: If a student does not come to school in dress code he/she will not be allowed to attend classes until they are in dress code. Students not in dress code will be required to go to study hall until they are in proper attire. To get into dress code they may buy clothing at the school store or they may have a parent bring clothing to them. Students may not leave campus to get clothing.
School Store
The School Store was initiated by DC students who desired
to create revenue to support mission groups while providing
school families with clean, well-maintained uniforms
at very reasonable prices ($1, $2, $5). The store is
located in the basement of the mansion building on the
upper campus. School hours for 07-08 will be sent out
at the beginning of the school year. If you would like
to shop in the school store other than the posted times,
you can come by the high school office and we will be
glad to open the store for you. Be sure to call ahead
to ensure that someone is available to open the store.
If you would like to donate used school uniforms in good
condition for the school store, you may drop them off
at the high school office. The success of the store is
dependent on these donations and we would like to thank
you in advance for your help. Parents, if you would be
willing to volunteer to sort, clean, and rack clothing
for the store, please call the high school office at
610-353-6522, ext. 217.
