High School Philosophy of Athletics
DC provides a God-centered education through the teaching of Christian principles. The athletic program serves as an integral part of the total education program.
DC is committed to excellence in athletics. The educational benefits of an excellent athletic program develop a balanced lifestyle in the spiritual, mental, physical, and social dimensions of one's total being.
A goal of the DC athletic program is to encourage athletes to view their abilities as gifts from God and to seek out ways in which they can minister to others through sport participation. Athletics is a powerful tool for ministry. Coaches and athletes are challenged to consider practical ways in which they can serve others and witness to others using sport as a platform for their ministry.
Junior Varsity: In addition to the central and primary goal of developing Christ-like character, attitude and behavior in each athlete, the junior varsity program seeks to develop individual skills and team play. All players participate in most contests, providing valuable experience. The development of both the individual and the team are important at this level. All pre-season camps and tryouts are mandatory unless otherwise announced.

High School Athlete Eligibility
There are several eligibility standards as set forth by the PIAA to which every athlete must comply. In order for an athlete to be eligible to participate in the first day of try-outs for any sport he/she must have on file in the Athletic Office a PIAA Pre-Participation Form. Wrestlers are also required to turn in a weight classification form prior to the start of the season. The physical must be dated after June 1 for eligibility for the next school year.
DC also requires each athlete to complete a HS Eligibility Form for each season of participation.
PIAA academic requirements are checked weekly to maintain eligibility in a sport.
