Middle School Sport Info
Middle School Philosophy of Athletics
DC provides a God-centered education through the teaching of Christian principles. The athletic program serves as an integral part of the total education program.
DC is committed to excellence in athletics. The educational benefits of an excellent athletic program develop a balanced lifestyle in the spiritual, mental, physical, and social dimensions of one's total being.
A goal of the DC athletic program is to encourage athletes to view their abilities as gifts from God and to seek out ways in which they can minister to others through sport participation. Athletics is a powerful tool for ministry. Coaches and athletes are challenged to consider practical ways in which they can serve others and witness to others using sport as a platform for their ministry.
The primary goals of the middle school athletic program are participation, positive attitudes, involvement and physical development.
Season Schedule
The middle school has an independent schedule. Try-outs for the fall season typically begin the first week of school. The winter season usually begins in the second week of November. Spring sports start around the second week of March.
Athletic Eligibility
Every athlete must have on file in the Athletic Office a PIAA Pre-Participation Form. This form must be turned in prior to the start of the first season of sport participation. Only one physical form is necessary for the entire school year no matter how many seasons of sport participation an athlete is involved. The physical must be dated after June 1 for eligibility for the next school year.
DC also requires student-athletes to complete a MS Athletic Eligibility Form for each season of participation.
