Welcome to Knights Sports, the DC Athletic Development Program
Knights Sports is the sports youth development program that provides DC elementary and middle school students with intramural and organized athletic opportunities to assist in their development. Knights Sports' focus is on getting kids engaged in sport(s) of interest early in their elementary years and working with them to develop their natural gifts. While healthy competition is a part of what we expose the kids to, having fun with their DC friends, participating in athletics, becoming more physically fit, and honoring God are paramount.
Basketball - DC elementary students typically play intramural basketball in the Jr. Knights Program (K-5) and in some cases for a grade specific DC team competing primarily in the nearby Malvern League against local school and club teams. As students progress and enter Middle School, there are AFBE tournaments that DC enters as a team and opportunities within the Narberth League and AAU programs for individuals.
Ice Hockey - The DC Elementary School Ice Hockey Team is open to all DC elementary students. The team focuses on building fundamentals and instilling a Christ-oriented philosophy. All skill levels are welcome, including children with no skating or hockey experience. Beginner skaters will initially receive one-on-one skating instruction. As soon as they can stand and move forward on the ice, they will begin learning puck handling and the fundamentals of hockey. For more details, visit http://sites.google.com/site/dccshockey.
Soccer - The Liverpool Intramural Program introduces boys and girls to indoor soccer in the winter. In the fall, boys typically compete for DC Travel Soccer Teams in the DELCO League and girls in the PAGS League.
Wrestling - The Ironman Wrestling Program introduces DC elementary school boys to wrestling.
