Mr. Andy Alford
When I was in eighth grade I knew that I wanted to be a teacher – thanks to an adult mentor of mine that showed me how wonderful it can be to serve the Lord at a Christian school. From that moment on, I knew I wanted to be wholeheartedly involved in a Christian school, and that began my journey. I started as a Physical Education and Mathematics teacher, and continued in those roles until the Lord directed me to Administration.
Having served in three Christian schools over the years, the Lord has allowed me to see so many lives changed. To work with teenagers is a blessing – each day brings new exciting challenges and I continue to be amazed at how the Lord works on a daily basis. I am thankful that the Lord began a good work in me and will continue working until the day He comes again!
I'm an administrator at DC because the Lord made it clear to me almost twenty years ago that this is the school He had in mind for me some day. It took a few years for me to see this come to fruition, but the Lord directed all the way. What an exciting place to work for God's kingdom!
I have had many incidences confirming my calling, but some of my favorite ones are when former students drop in to say hello and reminisce. It's so wonderful to see them return 'all grown up'... what a great privilege to be working in a ministry that allows me to see God's hand at work for years and years!
