As  an alumnus of Delaware County Christian School, it is a privilege to work at a school that invested in me for years! I graduated from Gordon College where I studied Elementary Education and History, studied art history in Italy, and played first base on the softball team. Growing up, I was very involved in the children's ministry at my church, which stressed the importance of using your God-given gifts for the glory of His Kingdom. It is through these experiences that I realized my passion for teaching young children not only to learn, but also to love the Lord with their whole heart. There is never a dull moment when you are teaching a group of unique, inquisitive, and fun-loving First Graders! I feel blessed to be able to make an impact in the lives of young children as they begin their life-long journey as students!

Prior to my position as a Kindergarten teacher, I worked as a Children's Ministry Intern at Church of the Savior. For five years, I helped organize, plan, and implement various summer camps for elementary and middle school students. As a child, I attended Church of the Savior's camps and participated in the training program to become a counselor. After eighteen years of involvement, I felt God calling me to take a greater leadership role in the church. However, I could never have imagined that this summer job would have such an immense impact on my own spiritual walk with the Lord. It is through this position that I developed my passion for working with young children. One of my primary goals was to help children grow closer to the Lord through exposing them to an environment that is rich in truth, encouragement, and love. I got to watch as children, who even at a young age, had an intense desire to follow God's Word. To this day, I continue to volunteer at these camps every summer; in fact I have been attending them since Kindergarten without missing a single year! These camps play a large role in my personal testimony and I am excited to watch as they continue to be influential in the lives of many young children!

As a Delaware County Christian School student, I experienced a Christ-centered environment that strived to educate their students to go out into the world and make an eternal impact. The education felt meaningful. I wasn't simply learning to attain a diploma, I was developing the necessary skills to serve God through biblical truth. Based on my personal experiences, I felt called to take the gifts that my teachers instilled within me as a student to impact younger generations. I wanted to work in an environment in which I was free to walk alongside my students as they struggle, develop, and grow in their walk with the Lord. When a student encounters hardships, whether due to academic demands or social needs, I have the ability to bring the issue openly to the Lord in prayer. I especially value that the education at DC represents a partnership between the teacher and parents as they train their children to be rooted in Christ. As a teacher, I possess the important responsibility of working with parents to instill in children a love for serving the Lord both through a balance of academic discipline and spiritual training.
