Mr. Addison Martin
Born and raised in good ol' Lancaster County. I grew up playing and exploring in the dirt looking for worms and bugs which led to an interest in science. This interest brought me to study biology at Eastern University. After having great experiences there, including doing biological research in Switzerland and Costa Rica, and recognizing my passion for teaching, I worked at various summer camps and outdoor education programs until finally finding myself here at DC.
I am a firm believer that education without spiritual and moral formation is vapid in its beauty and use to people. As a Christian, I was of course drawn to the DC's commitment to follow Christ's teaching and example and to guide others in this commitment as well. And so I am happy to teach at a place where I can do so without fear or denial of my faith in Christ and where I can help others pursue Christ as well.
I enjoy playing music and will take on anyone at any time of day in Dutch Blitz. I attend Good Samaritan Church in Paoli. Right now my favorite book is Hannah Coulter by Wendell Berry. This book is a beautifully crafted story which conveys powerful themes--not least that, unfortunately, in a broken world, pain will accompany love.
