I had the joy and privilege of growing up in the Philippines where my parents were missionaries---I definitely still left a piece of my heart in Asia! I returned to the United States when I was eighteen for college, graduating with a degree in English Education from Messiah College. I've been teaching English ever since, while continuing further graduate work at West Chester University and Villanova University. I love teaching all sorts of literature, but I still favor the classics. Bring on Shakespeare and Milton; they are just as relevant today as when they were written!

From the time I was a little girl creating adventures with my brothers and their G.I. Joe action figures, I've been interested in stories, both real and imaginary. It was more than just the tragic or comedic elements of the plots that attracted me; it was the truth about the human experience that lay behind them. So, it came as no great surprise when I switched my major from veterinarian medicine to English in college (though I still love animals!!). Who wouldn't want to study great literature and spend your days talking about ideas and how they affect the world? Besides all that, teaching in itself was an adventure, and one of which I am continually glad to be a part.
