DC Promise

We prepare our students for a life of impact through an innovative and exemplary education rooted in Christ.

Core Values

four upper school student
Rooted in Christ

All we do, teach and learn is rooted in Christ.

Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.
Colossians 2:6,7

Scholarship

We cultivate our God-given intellect and become passionate, lifelong learners.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.
Proverbs 9:10

Excellence

Doing everything to the Glory of God compels us to excellence.

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men.
Colossians 3:23

Community

Our diverse community values partnership, collaboration and strong personal relationships.

With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Ephesians 4:2,3

Servanthood

As servant-leaders, we recognize our calling to influence culture for good.

But it shall not be so among you. But whoever would be great among you must be your servant, and whoever would be first among you must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
Mark 10: 43-45

Impact

Reasoning critically and acting biblically, we are equipped to impact the world for Christ.

You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden. In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.
Matthew 5: 14,16

Returning to DC as a parent, it is a joy to see teachers impacting my children and displaying the Gospel through their words and actions. DC may be rich in academics and sports, but the teachers leave lifelong legacies in the hearts of their students.

Our innovative and exemplary education

Early Childhood Center

Grades PK2 - K

Young children are naturally inquisitive and love to learn. Students in grades PK2-Kindergarten participate in a Christ-centered education while allowing them to play, move and engage with the world around them.

Lower School

Grades 1 - 5

Lower school students are invited each day to engage in learning that has its framework within God’s Story. Learning is transformative when students discover God’s world and engage in it as image bearers of Christ participating in kingdom work.

Middle School

Grades 6 - 8

The middle school years hold unique opportunities to nurture students as they develop spiritually, physically, socially and emotionally toward the goal of impacting their world through biblical thought and action.

Upper School

Grades 9 - 12

The Upper School inspires students and graduates to be winsome disciples who make level paths for their feet, persevere through adversity with character and hope, and stand firm in Christlike love.

The DC Distinctive

Spiritual formation is woven through all we do.
