EXCEL After School
After School 3:00-5:30pm (Available daily or as needed)
Looking for after school care that provides a safe, loving environment where godly character, academic progress and friendships can flourish?
EXCEL After School provides students with a safe and nurturing environment that meets the needs of our lower school students and families during after-school hours. Students are engaged in a variety of planned activities from 3:00pm-5:30pm. Activities range in interest from arts and crafts to outside play, indoor games and homework. This program provides students in 1st—5th grade with a flexible program from 3:00pm-5:30pm. Students may attend from one to five days a week or on a drop-in basis as needed.
The elementary years are foundational for students to explore emerging interests and discover what they enjoy and where they excel. Co-curricular activities are designed to provide exposure to a wide variety of topics, providing fun and educational experiences as an extension of the school day. Most activities occur after school, and are taught by DC faculty members who desire to share their passion for learning beyond the classroom. Clubs are offered for a nominal fee each fall, winter and spring and include topics, such as:
- American Girl reading
- Street hockey
- Newspaper Club
- Junior Naturalist
- Bricks 4 Kidz
- and more!
Intramural football and soccer are offered during the fourth and fifth grade recess period and teach competition within the framework of Christ-centered coaching. We encourage all students to be active in our co-curricular activities and other enrichment opportunities throughout the year!
The Junior Knight’s Sports Program is dedicated to equipping elementary aged students with the skills and character necessary to be successful in athletics. We are focused on engaging young athletes in sport(s) at an early age to help develop their natural gifts. While healthy competition is a part of sports, we also desire for them to have fun with their friends, become more physically fit and honor God.
Knights Sports Academy
Junior Knights partners with DC Summer Programs to provide a variety of sport camps for grades 2-5 throughout the summer. Visit the Knights Sports Academy section of the DC Summer Programs to learn more.
DC Lower School students typically have opportunities to play basketball in the Jr. Knights Program (K-5) and in some cases for a grade specific DC team competing in nearby fall and spring leagues. As students’ progress and enter Middle School, there are a few nearby AAU organizations that offer opportunities for DC players to try out and work to improve as players. Interested boys and girls should feel free to reach out to the DC Athletic Department for additional information.
The Liverpool FC soccer club exists to develop players who will eventually play for and contribute to the DC middle school and upper school programs. We do this in a setting that emphasizes Christian character and seeks to honor the Lord in all things. In the fall, our travel teams compete in the Central League, Delco League, and the Philadelphia Area Girls League. In addition, we compete in various tournaments, enter winter futsal leagues, and run training and camps throughout the year. Visit our webpage at liverpoolsoccer.org.
Middle School age players have an opportunity to form a team and improve their skills and game play by participating in the USTC league.
