Everyday Excellence
Championship Character
Everyday Excellence defines the approach of working to give your best effort at all times. Championship Character defines the way in which we strive for that excellence. We view athletics as a way believers can use their bodies to glorify God and we view athletic performances as acts of worship towards Him. We believe that each person is gifted with abilities given by God and our coaches strive to work with each athlete to discover and then refine those gifts to help them to become the best athletes and teams that they can be.

Pursuing Excellence
We have a large number of our students participating in athletics each year. Approximately 76% of our upper school students and 84% of our middle school students hold memberships on our athletic teams.

Facilities
DC boasts a dynamic athletic environment for student-athletes across two beautiful campuses, encompassing 49 acres. We're committed to continuous improvement, regularly enhancing and upgrading facilities and equipment to keep pace with evolving needs. Additionally, we leverage various off-campus locations to ensure every sport has a dedicated space. Visit our athletic facilities page for a comprehensive overview.
Athletic Voices
I love working at DC because I participate in hiring coaches who enhance the spiritual lives of student-athletes. My role also involves cultivating teamwork and ensuring a life-giving and meaningful, competitive experience for student-athletes. Athletics align with the mission of DC.
Commitment and Character Building
Balancing Athletics and Academics
Joining cross country was the best possible entry point to DC for me, a student new to the area. Cross country gave me a community of brothers. I wasn’t the top runner but our coach never doubted me, he always believed and encouraged me.
Belonging to a Community
Teaching is not just about content delivery and coaching is not just about winning. In both of those roles, it's about building relationships and pointing my student athletes to Christ. Of course, I want my students to learn and my players to win, but more importantly, I want them to live for Jesus.
Performance Training
Our performance training program is designed to enhance each student-athlete's potential by increasing strength, speed, agility, flexibility, conditioning, and explosiveness. The primary goal is to minimize injury risks and improve performance capabilities through consistent, challenging training, ensuring success both individually and for our teams.
