This year's 55th Annual DC Tip-off tournament was a dandy with competitive contests and highly skilled teams. In their opening night contest, the Lady Knights secured a 42 - 20 victory against TCA. Caitlyn Goneau led all game scorers with 15pts, followed by Emily Smith with 12pts (3 three pointers) and Sarah Stahl with 11pts.
In the nightcap, The boys squad defeated Atlantic Christian 49 - 44 led by Jackson Piotrowski’s 11pts and Obinna Nwobodo with 10pts and 11rebounds..
On Saturday, our girls squad faced a tough Atlantic Christian team who were coming off of a dominant victory against Norfolk Christian the previous night. Their momentum carried and they were able to defeat the Lady Knights 67-22. The Knights were led by Sahdahya Addy with 6pts.
The varsity boys faced a Norfolk Christian squad who started off the game hot, ultimately hitting 7 shots from three point land and shooting 45% from the field overall. In the end, Norfolk defeated the Knights 73-47. Jackson Piotrowski led all DC scorers with 13 and was followed by Obinna Nwobodo with 12.
Sophomore Caitlyn Goneau and senior Obinna Nwobodo were named to the All-Tournament Team.
