After months of preparation and a very successful regular season, the DC Girls Basketball 2022-2023 season came to an end in the semifinal round of district play. After advancing to the second round of BAL playoffs, the Knights lost to six-time District One defending champions, Sacred Heart. Overall, DC finished with a record of 14 wins and 9 losses.
The Knights finished third in league standings with a 8-3 record in league play and were rewarded with five players earning All-League honors. Senior Sarah Stahl and junior Ashanti Harris were named to the first team while juniors Melina Mxaku, junior Sydney Stevens and sophomore Adelaide Smith received honorable mention recognition.
The team will say goodbye to two seniors, Evezi Omuyeh and Sarah Stahl. Both are four-year players who were instrumental in helping DC earn back-to-back winning seasons. With most of the team returning, the Knights look to improve in the off-season and have another strong season in 2023-2024.
