June 2020
Welcome Class of 2020! On May 29 the Class of 2020 joined the ranks of DC's alumni community. We were unable to hold our traditional ceremony on this original graduation date due to COVID-19 restrictions. That didn't stop our amazing Upper School administration and faculty from coming up with an innovative and fun graduation celebration. Our seniors each had a specific spot set up for them around the drive at the Lower Campus in Devon, set at 10 feet apart. Each held a large blowup photo of themselves so that they might be easily recognized while wearing a face mask. Family, friends, faculty and staff traveled in their decorated cars from a nearby location to the Lower Campus where a cacophony of celebratory noise began. A brief downpour did occur early on but our graduates didn't let it dampen their spirits. The Alumni Office pitched in with a Chick-fil-a takeaway dinner for our graduates.
Thanks to the Easttown Township police department for their help in planning and guiding the dozens of DC cars as they traveled from the meeting spot to Lower Campus.
We are so proud of these young men and women who have proved themselves resilient throughout a very difficult time. We look forward to seeing how they will take their DC education out into the world and impact it for Christ and His kingdom. A traditional graduation celebration is planned for July 30. More details to follow as they become available.

Head of School Communications The latest Head of School communications from Dan Steinfield are now available. The most recent message from June 17, bit.ly/HoS617 addresses the recent events across our nation surrounding racism and social justice. In it Dan speaks about both the immediate response for DC and the developing plans for the path forward for our school. Though we each likely have different ideas on how best to address these issues, as a Christian community one thing we can agree on is that we are called to "bear one another's burdens" Galatians 6:2 and here we have an opportunity to do just that. Rising senior class president Jordan Mitchell's letter to the DC family is also included, where he shares his personal insight on these matters.
Dan's message from June 4, bit.ly/HoS64, covers guidelines from the Pennsylvania Department of Education on opening our school with in-person instruction for the 2020-2021 academic year. Please be in prayer even now for the coming school year and for God's wisdom and guidance for those in leadership at DC and our Board of Trustees.
