Surviving Larry are his wife of 57 years, Bonnie; children, Dawn Faber of Springfield, MA, Michelle (Mike) DeVries of Rockford, MI and Stacey (Eric) Boender of Grand Rapids, MI; grandchildren, Eric, Heidi, Jonathan and Matthew DeVries and Jake, Banks, Cade and Mace Boender; brothers, Bob (Marie) Faber, Glenn (Bette) Faber and Don (Jennette) Faber and dearest sister, Edna Alles. Larry was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He received his undergraduate degree in Accounting from Villanova University and worked for the AMP Inc. in both Philadelphia and Harrisburg, PA until his retirement in 2002. Larry was an avid athlete having participated with his senior softball team on several national championship teams. His tennis game was outstanding and few could find a way to best Larry at a rousing game of table tennis. Larry served wherever needs arose, whether as elder of his church or a board member of the local Christian school. Larry mentored countless men and couples and lived his life on the lookout for opportunities to share his life with others, so that they could gain an understanding of his Savior and Redeemer. As in his tennis game, Larry's life was "all about the serve." Funeral services will be held 11 AM on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Sunshine Christian Reformed Church. In lieu of flowers, gifts can be made in Larry's memory to Mississippi Christian Ministries, Grand Rapids Christian Educational Support Services. Christian Businessman's Organization (CBMC).
