A nurse is on duty at both the upper and lower campuses daily. The nurse’s responsibilities include: assessing students with complaints of illness/injury, determining if students can stay in school for the remainder of the day, providing first aid, administrating medication, and maintaining health records for each student.

DC’s School Counselors provide services such as individual and group counseling, responding to students in crisis, and teaching guidance classes. School Counselors collaborate intentionally with school staff, families, and community mental health providers to best serve and respond to student’s needs. School Counselors are available in the Upper, Middle and Lower School Divisions. Students can be connected to the School Counselor by a teacher, parent, or self-referral. Delaware County Christian School is committed to the safety of its students and employees, and is engaged in initiatives to enhance its current safety program. DC works closely in conjunction with local police, FBI, and fire departments. Staff, faculty, and students participate in monthly drills to practice appropriate responses in emergency situations such as fire drills, intruder alerts, and stay in place.  

Delaware County Christian School also trains Upper and Middle School students in the Safe2Say Something system. Safe2Say Something is a youth violence prevention program run by the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General. The program teaches youth and adults how to recognize warning signs and signals, especially within social media, from individuals who may be a threat to themselves or others and to “say something” BEFORE it is too late. With Safe2Say Something, it’s easy and confidential to report safety concerns to help prevent violence and tragedies.

Emergency Communication
In the event of an emergency situation, Delaware County Christian School's first priority will always be the immediate safety of the students. Parents will be notified of the situation as quickly as possible through One Call Now® and the website. The parent’s myDC account must be up-to-date with parent primary home and cell phone numbers to receive these emergency notifications. All-school emails will also be sent to parents with more comprehensive information. Note: The school’s phone system may not be working or overwhelmed with calls in the case of an emergency.
