On Saturday, November 18, 2023, District Choir auditions were held at Rustin High School in West Chester, PA. 322 students from area public and private schools competed for the honor to represent their school in this prestigious choir. 

Three DC students were selected for the 2023 District Choir:

Daniel Ho ‘25, Tenor II
Claire Liu ‘24, Soprano I (Ranked Top 5 in voice part)
Annika Callan ‘25, Soprano I (Ranked Top 10 in voice part), Soprano I 

In a separate audition, Annika Callan was also chosen as District Choir Piano Accompanist. 

As a part of District Choir, students are selected based on an audition; only 20 members are selected for each voice part in the choir, so the process is extremely competitive. Students are asked to prepare and sing a selection of music for a panel of judges. Judges look for quality of tone, understanding and familiarity with the selected piece, and pitch.
