New Director of Athletics Appointed
Kevin Wallace appointed AD for 2023-24

Newtown Square, PA – Delaware County Christian School is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Kevin Wallace as the Athletic Director for the 2023-2024 academic year. In this role, Kevin will be responsible for encouraging our student-athletes to pursue excellence in character, competition, and performance not for individual accolades but for the God we serve. The Athletic Director will be a member of the school’s Executive Leadership Team. Mr. Wallace will work alongside the athletic department and our coaching staff to continue to build and strengthen our athletic program and nurture a future generation of Christian athletes.

The process of identifying Mr. Wallace came after a nationwide search that brought candidates from all over the country including California, North Carolina, Indiana, Illinois, and Tennessee. Top candidates invited for a second-round interview met not only with the leadership of DC but also sat down with panels of student-athletes, coaches, and Booster Club parents who provided feedback to the search committee. We thank the thirty-some interviewers involved in the hiring process and the Athletic Director search team for the incredible effort, time, and prayer dedicated to this process. Members include Jim Favino, Mark Dixon, Chad Fenley, Joy Ludwig, and Debbie Elken.

Kevin Wallace comes to us from Eastern University where he has served as the Associate Athletic Director since 2013. In his role at Eastern University, Kevin managed the recruitment and cultivation of employees of the athletic department, administered all athletic activities by coordinating with coaching and facilities staff, and played an integral role in developing and designing several multi-million dollar capital improvement projects for the athletic complex. He has also been Eastern’s Men's Lacrosse Head Coach from 2011 to the present and has led the team to six MAC Conference Championships and was a four-time Coach of the Year for the MAC-Freedom Conference. Kevin holds a B.A. from Ursinus College and a Master’s in Education from Eastern University.

When asked to give a statement of his vision for his future role at DC, Kevin shared:

It was clear from the beginning of the process how committed Delaware County Christian School is to athletics. Jeremiah 17:7-8 says, “Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord. He is like a tree planted by water, that sends out its roots by the stream, and does not fear when heat comes, for its leaves remain green, and is not anxious in the year of drought, for it does not cease to bear fruit.” My family's home church spent this past year studying these verses and learning spiritual disciplines to send our roots down deep so that we are firmly rooted in Christ. I believe this opportunity at DC gives my family an opportunity to grow our roots deeper in Christ. I will also look to structure DC’s athletic department with deep roots in Christ with the hope that it will deeply impact both our school and community.  I look forward to seeing what God has in store for athletics and the DC community as a whole. I welcome your prayers as we begin this journey together.

Mr. Wallace will officially assume his Athletic Director role on July 1, 2023, and will be joined by his wife, Kellie, and children.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Mike Pinelli who has taken on the role of Interim Athletic Director since July 2022. Mike will continue in this role and will provide oversight of all athletic operations until the end of June. He has done an exceptional job maintaining the department and preparing it for a seamless transition to our new Athletic Director. We are also thankful for his excellent work as Assistant Athletic Director and Strength and Conditioning Coach. Please join me in praying for Mike and his family as they consider future opportunities and discern the Lord’s leading for their lives.
