FAQs: Trivia Night 2024
What is Trivia Night?
Devised and organized by a group of DC parents with “Friend-raising” as the primary goal, Trivia Night is intended to be a fun, entertaining evening for building community within the greater DC family while also serving as a fundraiser to support The Fund For DC.
What is the format of the event?
Thirty tables of 8 participants will compete as table teams through 8 rounds of 10 questions. In the event of multiple teams winning a round, each round will include a tie-breaker question to secure the overall winner of that round. After eight rounds, one table will be crowned the Trivia Night Winner.
What is the timeline for the event?
Doors open at 5:30pm on Saturday, January 27, 2024. The check-in team will direct you to your assigned table. Event will start promptly at 6:30pm and end around 9:15pm.
Can I volunteer to help out if I don’t purchase a table?
Yes! We would love help during the event. If you would like to volunteer, please email DJ Horton: horton.davidj@gmail.com.
What should I bring?
You and seven friends/family for your table - DC parents, teachers, faculty, alumni, or other friends/family! Please remember this is a 21+ event, and students are not permitted to attend.
You may be interested in the evening 50/50 tickets and halftime game. Purchasing of the items can be done via cash or credit card.
Food and beverages - this is a BYO event - feel free to bring snacks, a potluck meal, etc. for your table. Alcoholic beverages are allowed and must be consumed responsibly. There will be no food or beverages served at the event.
What types of questions are included?
The event is video trivia - which can include video clips, pictures, audio clips, and more. Each round is structured on a fun pop culture topic through the span of many years.
What does the winning team receive?
The winning team has their name engraved on the Trivia Night Trophy and a complimentary table for the 2025 DC Trivia Night!
How do I register?
One person purchases a table for their group. Tables are limited to 8 people each, with only 36 available; these will go quickly! The table fee is $250, which is only $31.25 per person.
