Picnic Pavilion

A Gathering Space

A new picnic pavilion will serve as a welcoming hub where students can come together for classes and lunches. This space also offers a place for DC gatherings or community events. Designed as a versatile, three-season structure, the pavilion will provide shade in the warmer months and shelter during crisp fall days, extending opportunities for outdoor learning and connection.

More than just a picnic spot, the pavilion will be an inspiring open-air classroom, where students can engage with creation, collaborate on projects, and experience the joy of learning outdoors.

The picnic pavilion at the Lower Campus will serve to benefit our student body and faculty in numerous ways. The space will function as another outdoor learning space on campus, providing consistent shade and weather protection. The value of this space will also extend into the summer months as the pavilion will serve as a hub for both meals and camp activities at DC Summer Programs.Kevin McIntyre
