About Boosters

At DC, every parent is a Booster!

It takes many hands to provide a premier athletic experience for our children; therefore, it is expected that each family serve in some capacity during each season your athlete participates. The Booster Leadership Team is the support system that works with the Athletic Department to coordinate volunteers and all supporting activities. The Leadership Team prepares a list of volunteer opportunities at the beginning of each season with the expectation that Boosters (all parents of student athletes) sign up to volunteer within the first two weeks of the season.

The Leadership Team will also purchase supplies and work with the school to have the structures in place for volunteers to easily step in and serve. They will make decisions on the disbursement of funds based on the Athletic Department's recommendations. Any parent can serve on the Leadership Team (when there is a vacancy) by expressing interest to the Athletic Director.

Mission and Vision of DC Athletic Boosters

Believing that Christ-centered school sports can positively influence a student athlete’s character, the DC Athletic Boosters exists to support the Athletic Department by promoting and encouraging our athletes to Honor God, Develop Character and Pursue Excellence.  As volunteers, we provide team and individual recognition, fundraising, seasonal events, and school spirit opportunities.

What we do to support the Mission and Vision:

3 Awards Nights a year – for each season

Boosters helps coordinate these evenings. This includes team time, fellowship/food time and all-athlete gathering with team recognition, senior testimonies, and a seasonal video.

3 Sports Days a year – for each season

Each season, there is a Saturday scheduled with all home games for the Upper School teams and some middle school teams. We use these days to fundraise, “fun raise” and recognize our senior athletes. Boosters sells concessions during these days as well as Spirit Wear. We also paint senior posters, provide photo buttons for the parents of the seniors and provide flowers for the girl seniors or the moms of the boy seniors.

Tip Off Tournament

We organize/provide concessions for both days of the tournament as well as decorations, gate workers, guards and housing if needed.

Football Concessions

We organize/provide concessions and gate workers for all home football games.

Basketball Games

During the winter season, we organize/provide concessions for all home Upper School basketball games as well as gate “keepers” and guards.

Team Parent/Team Photography Coordination

Boosters works with each team to identify and support a team parent. The team parent ensures that team photos are taken as well as action photos of senior players.

Spirit Wear

Boosters works with the Athletic Office to make sure quality branded items are available to the community.
