The mission of Delaware County Christian School is to educate students who will serve God and impact the world through biblical thought and action. This mission drives all that we do at DC. In preparing our students to impact the world for Christ, we recognize that nimbleness, continuous learning, the ability to transform ideas into action, and effective communication are important in this fast-changing world. As such, a solid foundation in a liberal arts education is coupled with opportunities to apply learning in innovative ways. This partnership between the School of Liberal Arts (SLA) and the Schools for Applied and Innovative Learning (SAIL) allows DC students to think deeply and broadly, and then to use their knowledge to solve real-world problems. Thus, our students connect the idea of scholarship with its theological implications that there is a purpose to our learning; it leads to biblical action that glorifies God. This can be seen in our Lower School students using their musical skills to bring joy to nursing home residents, our middle school students applying their understanding of physical science and earth science to building wind turbines as an alternative energy source, or our Upper School students developing a response plan to an international development and social justice issue, based on their knowledge of history, biology, and economics – all understood through a biblical worldview.
