Mr. Chad Fenley
I grew up in the great state of Texas as the son of two public school educators. My father was the Athletic Director and Head Football coach of my high school and my mother taught kindergarten in our school district. Education has always been in my blood and something I wanted to do for as long as I can remember.
I had the opportunity to attend Wheaton College (majoring in mathematics) and play football for the Thunder. Playing football with 100 other followers of Jesus was a special experience. Besides playing for three conference championship teams, serving in Romania with my teammates during spring breaks is my favorite memory from college.
I was blessed to meet my wife, Jamie at Wheaton. After college we moved to Houston, Texas and got married. We both taught in Houston before the Lord brought us to Philadelphia in 2007 for what I thought would be a two year adventure. Two years has turned into many and we are now raising our three crazy boys in Philadelphia and love it! At DC, I teach middle school math and I am one of the varsity football coaches.
During my second year at DC, our first son was born with a congenital heart defect and underwent four surgeries and spent the first two and a half months of his life in the hospital. At that time, I had a strong desire to return and teach back home in Texas. However, the DC community embraced us like no other and showered our family with blessing and prayer. The DC community instantly became part of our family for how they rallied around our family and our son. We will forever be grateful to the school and the community.
I love watching and playing sports! I had the privilege of helping to start the football program at DC. I continue to coach and love working with young men. I also cherish my time with my boys playing Legos, Playmobil, and wrestling. I enjoy art, history, and reading in my 'spare' time.
