Other Information

'He is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him.' John Piper

God called me to teach at DC by His providence, and He equipped me to teach at DC by His grace. I have been honored to build my career and ministry here by partnering with parents and colleagues in the education of precious students, based on the foundational truth of God's Word.

For five early years, I worked as an elementary teacher, before taking some time to stay at home as the mother of two children. I returned to DC, first as a parent, and then as part of the Discovery Center faculty. God surprised me by leading me to MS resource room, where I discovered the rewards of helping enthusiastic middle school students experience academic success. After years of prayer, God graciously provided a sixth grade Bible class for me to love and teach. It is my passion to follow the Holy Spirit's leading in creating impactful ways to bring biblical truth to life. I pray that my students will know and follow Jesus, passionately living lives that reflect the glory of the Savior.

The Lord led me to my areas of discipline. I never envisioned myself teaching in middle school, but God had different plans. Through a variety of personal and educational experiences, God taught me to appreciate learning differences in students and prepared me to work with children who benefit from academic support. I enjoy the challenge of learning the content of the MS curriculum, and I am blessed to refine my teaching skills by working with talented colleagues. It is a joy to help eager middle school students experience academic success. The smaller classroom setting allows many opportunities to build relationships with my students. We pray and share spiritual insights, as we seek to honor God with our work and rely on Him to help us.

My 'sweet spot' in working at DC has to be Bible class. The Lord reveals Himself to me as I prepare to teach His precious Word. I am blessed to see the Holy Spirit work in the hearts of students through the Good News of the grace of God through Jesus.

My interests include reading good books, especially biographies and historical fiction. I make it a goal every year to keep my Bible teaching fresh by reading at least two good books that relate to the Gospel of John. I also have a passion for music. I enjoy playing the piano, singing, and attending Christian concerts with my family. Since childhood, I have had a strong interest in history. I enjoy visiting places of historical interest, and I strive to stay current in world events and politics. I am passionate about God's work in building His Kingdom around the world through the Gospel of Christ. I have particular interest in supporting the persecuted church. Finally, I enjoy learning about scriptures and Jewish traditions that point to Yeshua and God's heart for the nation of Israel. My dream is to one day visit Israel to see the land where Jesus walked.
