Miss Suzanne Doman
After my college graduation, I taught remedial reading and math in Philadelphia for five years. From there I taught 5th grade in several Christian elementary schools around the country. Eventually, I returned to Pennsylvania and found a home, teaching at Delaware County Christian School. Indeed, DC is a special place; it is here that I get to teach my favorite subjects, Social Studies and U.S. History to some incredible, enthusiastic middle school students! I believe that I have inherited my love for teaching history from my dad. I say this because he seemed to have knowledge about everything, and he always had a good story to tell both me and others.
The Lord revealed to me that He was calling me to teach one day during my student teaching assignment. On that day I was being observed by my university supervising teacher. As I got up to teach, all of my apprehension disappeared as I realized it was just my students, the Lord and I. I had a peace and joy that I couldn't explain while I was with my students, and I knew that this was God's purpose for me.
In my free time I enjoy being with family and friends, walking and riding bikes, and traveling. I also love learning from various educational television stations including National Geographic and the history channels!
