Other Information

I had the privilege of attending DC from kindergarten through twelfth grade. Those years significantly shaped and molded me. Heading west from DC, I attended Wheaton College where I majored in elementary education and met my husband John. Since graduating from college I have earned a master's degree in multicultural education from Eastern University and have had three wonderful children.

I first worked at DC as a fourth grade teacher and moved to part time work assisting teachers with technology integration and substitute teaching during the years I had toddlers at home. I returned to full time work as the library and technology teacher at the elementary school when my youngest began pre-kindergarten. What a joy it is to teach at this special place and continue the legacy of the men and women who developed a love of learning and love for Jesus in me!

I love being the 'Library Lady' at the elementary campus. It is so much fun to connect students with books that I know they will enjoy. There are so many wonderful books in our collection! It brings me great joy to watch children develop a love of reading and to help guide them as they learn and discover in the library. I enjoy teaching them how to be thinkers and evaluators whether reading books or using the many technology tools at their fingertips. I also have so much fun partnering with parent volunteers in the library. I have developed great friendships with parents who joyfully serve our students in the library and help our library run efficiently and effectively.
