Delaware County Christian School provides several scholarships for students. Our merit scholarships encourage academically talented students entering grades 9-12, while the Psalm 78 Alumni Scholarship awards tuition funds to the children of DC alumni.

Templeton Merit Scholarship for Upper School Students

2019-20 Merit Scholarships Application

 Templeton Scholars

Drs. John and Josephine Pina Templeton provide funding each year for the Templeton Scholars. Dr. John M. Templeton was a prominent surgeon at Children's Hospital in Philadelphia before becoming president of the John Templeton Foundation, started by his father. Dr. Josephine Templeton also served on the staff of Children's Hospital for many years.

Merit Scholarship Terms:

Amount: $1500 each

Scholarships awarded on a year-by-year basis to 14 students

Purpose:The Templetons would like to encourage capable young Christian men and women to consider service to the Lord through medical and scientific careers.

A maximum of three individual scholarships per Upper School class for current DC students – rising 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th.

Students currently attending DC as well as those students making application to enroll in DC may apply.

Current DC Students: (rising 12th) required 4.2 GPA on a weighted 5.0; (rising 10th and 11th) required 4.4 GPA

(rising 9th) numeric average of 95/100


1)    Complete two-page essay on one question

2)    Christian Commitment (evidenced in personal expression as well as school, church and community involvement)

Margaret and Stephen Dill Psalm 78 Alumni Scholarship

The Margaret and Stephen Dill Psalm 78 Alumni Scholarship was established in 2013 to honor the Dills’ 40 years of dedicated service to Delaware County Christian School. Steve and Marge committed their lives to telling the next generation of the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord. Passing the baton of faith defined their mission as Christian educators. Keeping such a mission in view, this scholarship will honor their legacy by awarding tuition funds to the children of DC alumni.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Child of a DC alumna/alumnae or child with one or more parent who attended DC
  • Award decisions are based on financial need
  • Decisions on recipients will be made by the business office and financial aid committee
  • At some point while receiving the award parents will be asked to write a statement on the impact of a Christian education at DC on their family
  • DC has the right to list the names of a parents and their class year as being recipients of the scholarship

Duration and Amount of Scholarship:

  • The scholarship given to a family will be $3000 a year for four years
  • A change in financial situation as indicated by financial aid application may change a family’s eligibility for the award. If a family is no longer eligible for financial aid, the award may be terminated prior to the end of four years
  •  At the end of four years a family may reapply, but preference will be given to new alumni families who qualify

Application is automatically made when indicating parents are DC alumni on the admissions application.
