A team of eighth grade students were recently recognized by the Manufacturing Alliance of Chester and Delaware Counties for their submission in the “What’s So Cool About Manufacturing” video contest. DC was one of 17 Chester and Delaware County middle schools participating in the contest. The winners at this level will go on to compete against other counties in Pennsylvania.
The Manufacturing Alliance of Chester and Delaware Counties sponsors the contest as a way to change student perception and promote interest in careers in manufacturing industries. DC’s team visited their assigned business partner, New Way Air Bearings, to learn about the company’s product and market applications. Faculty advisors Mr. Chad Fenley and Mrs. Christi Rhine provided guidance to the students as they developed and produced their video submission. In addition to learning video production skills, the team was required to submit a marketing plan and summary of their efforts.
Congratulations to team members Ava Schaafsma, Kaitlyn Pulliam, Sarah Stahl, Stephanie Moorhatch, Corinne Creeden, Jake Johnson, Cameron Hackett, Nick Vavala, and Levi Dental.
