The Arts at DC
“A Christian should use the(se) arts to the glory of God, not just as tracts, mind you, but as things of beauty to the praise of God. An art work can be a doxology in itself.” ― Francis A. Schaeffer
Delaware County Christian School has a deep artistic tradition. God, the “master artist,” has used men and women to nurture students’ dramatic, musical and visual art training. Our highly dedicated faculty provide space for our students to explore while also stretching them in skill and technique. Student artists are taught to recognize the discipline and dedication needed to truly honor God with their craft. Our students are encouraged to pursue a variety of mediums, with the opportunity to follow a specific sequence of courses to truly develop their artistry.
Choral![]() "Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord, let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song." Psalm 95:1-2 |
Instrumental![]() The purpose of our program is to develop each student's potential as a worshiper, performer, creator, and consumer through the study of band instruments and the accompanying literature. |
Theatre![]() As a God-given gift, drama invites us to explore and enjoy life. Through drama, we participate in the suffering and joys of others. Drama provokes thought, moving us into introspection as we evaluate ourselves and the world in which we live. |
Visual![]() Whether a student is an accomplished and gifted artist or someone just learning the basics, our outstanding visual arts program will provide an opportunity for him or her to grow and develop. |
