At DC, we understand that while spiritual formation is certainly fostered and grown through dedicated Bible classes and discipleship groups, it also extends to the entire DC experience. Learning to walk with Christ and knowing Him better happens on the playground, on the turf field, in the podcast studio, on the stage, and in the chemistry lab. 

Our mission is to educate students who will serve God and impact the world through biblical thought and action. This mission spills over into every aspect of life, as students learn their purpose and place in God’s story.

Every DC student, PK2-12th grade attends chapel weekly for a time of worship and age-appropriate teaching.

Stewardship

DC desires to help students develop the intellectual virtues of courage, carefulness, tenacity, fair-mindedness, curiosity, honesty, and humility. The development of intellectual virtue is “not about doing the right things, but about becoming the right kind of person.” 

Our hope for students is that they would understand God’s call to be faithful stewards of our minds and hearts, gracious gifts we have been given for a purpose.

The worship teams at DC aims to honor God by utilizing musical talents and gifts. Through rehearsals, collaboration, and mutual encouragement, we strive to be instruments of the Lord, praying for His guidance and presence. Our deep hope is to lead students and teachers to worship the Lord through song.

Parent Prayer Groups

Prayer is the most powerful way we can impact our children. Parents gather weekly and monthly through Moms in Prayer, DC Dads, and specific grade-level class prayer groups. Parents are also invited quarterly to coffee with our head of school to encourage discussion and prayer together.

An opportunity for grades 5-12 to focus on Jesus Christ and strengthen relationships with peers and teachers.

Faculty and Staff Devotions

Each morning our faculty begin the day together reading scripture and praying for one another, their students, and the entire school community. Through a systematic reading plan, we ensure the Bible is read in its entirety every seven years, grounding our school in the wisdom and guidance of God's Word.

Guided by Proverbs 4:26 “Give careful thought to the paths for your feet and be steadfast in all your ways” our students are called to be stewards of God's creation through thoughtfully designed lessons that take place outdoors and adventure based learning curriculum at key grade levels.
