At DC, education is rooted in Christ, discipling students towards a relationship with Christ.

This happens throughout each day in the mundane moments, within a lesson, an intentional conversation, or more structured through time set aside each week. Opportunities to participate in Advisory and Discipleship Groups allow students to deepen their faith through fellowship and community.

Advisory Groups

Middle School:

Each middle school student is assigned to a same gender small group advisory of sixth through eighth grade peers led by a faculty mentor. Advisory groups meet weekly on Thursdays. Advisory meetings emphasize spiritual growth, friendship development, and building positive school culture.

Upper School:

Each student is assigned to a same gender small group advisory of 9th-12th grade peers lead by a faculty mentor. Upper School advisory groups meet bi-weekly on Fridays.

This time is set aside with a spiritual and developmental focus, a small group context for discussion, prayer, fellowship, and more. Students generally remain with the same faculty advisor over the course of their Upper School journey. This person serves as another trusted adult and advocate on campus.

My DC education means so much to me - I am thankful that I was able to grow in a community that puts Jesus first.

Discipleship Groups

Discipleship Groups offer Middle and Upper School students weekly voluntary gatherings to nurture spiritual growth and fellowship. Often led by faculty, local pastors, or community members, these groups allow students to independently invest in their spiritual formation and intellectual curiosity. Discipleship groups demonstrate the partnership between school, parents, and church communities in the spiritual formation of our students.
