God's Faithfulness on Display: The 2022 DC Benefit

The Lord had His hand on our efforts as we reintroduced, after a two-year hiatus due to a global pandemic, this annual event that helps to raise funds and friends for the school. The night was beautifully executed, and thanks to His generous provision, the students and staff of DC will be the beneficiaries of the generosity and kindness of this incredible community. 

We had more than 300 people in attendance to open the doors of our new Student Union on the Upper Campus. From the moment the doors opened, the energy was electric as old friendships were renewed, and new friendships were made. The bidding from within the building as well as those who bid from afar resulted in numbers we haven’t seen before. None of this would have been possible without the overwhelming response by our community in the days and months leading up to the event. 

Thank you to the countless volunteers who requested and gathered items for auction. Thank you to those who donated items. Thank you to every DC family who contributed to the Class Gifts which were a highlight of our Silent Auction. A special thank you to our faculty and staff who so generously donated experiences that will be treasured by the winners. Thank you to those volunteers who showed up on Friday and Saturday to help transform a construction site into one of the most beautiful venues in the area. From every broom that swept, to every table that was put in place, the evening came together because of many hands. 

This year, during our Call to Heart, we announced an anonymous donor had come forward to offer a 2-1 match. Again, our community stepped forward with faith. Our goal to raise $30,000 to unlock $60,000 was met in under six minutes and exceeded our expectations by hitting $40,000 from the community. Thank you to the many who participated! Our goal could not have been met and surpassed without the combined generosity of many. 

The evening’s total net proceeds exceeded $225,000. What a blessing! We thank all of you who participated and we thank our precious Lord and Savior for His guidance and protection over this community. We are excited to see how God uses these funds to further the mission of DC and His Kingdom!
