Pillar I
Faculty and Staff Compensation and Support

DC’s first Head of School, Dr. Roy Lowrie, Jr., referred to the faculty as the school’s “gold in the bank.” With this campaign pillar, we invite the school community to affirm this truth by enhancing the compensation and support DC provides for its faculty and staff through charitable giving. In addition to the campaign’s lead ($2.25 million) and matching ($8 million) donations, which will be invested solely in this component of the endowment, we seek to raise $3 million toward Pillar I, for a total goal of $13.25 million. Meeting this goal will, among other priorities, enable DC to raise teacher and staff salaries to a level that is competitive with top area public and private schools.

Pillar II
Scholarships and Financial Aid

This campaign pillar seeks to raise $3 million to make a DC education accessible to more area Christian families and to reward DC students who exemplify the characteristics that make our student body distinctive. Open financial aid and scholarship programs include: the Roy W. Lowrie, Jr. Scholarship, Ellis and Cornelia Curley Scholarship, Class of 1967 Scholarship, Kenneth H. Tanis Scholarship, Margaret and Stephen Dill Psalm 78 Alumni Scholarship, Templeton Merit Scholarship, Proverbs 3 Tuition Grant Fund, and Dr. and Mrs. George K. McFarland Scholarship.

Pillar III
Program Development and General Support

This campaign pillar aims to raise $2 million to enrich the holistic development of our students by supporting curricular, co-curricular, and extracurricular programs that advance the strategic initiatives at the heart of The DC Promise, DC’s 2020-23 strategic plan. This pillar also encompasses undesignated gifts to the campaign, which will be allocated where they are needed most.
