Lower Campus Students Win Inaguaral March Madness Giving

The last buzzer sounds and the 2023 DC March Madness winner is…

The students of the ECC and Lower School!

The alumni played hard with new players coming off the bench, but they were unable to keep up with the well-disciplined team of youngsters. Our youngest participants had some support from their parents, grandparents, and teachers, but much of their success was built upon their commitment of pennies, quarters, and crumbled dollar bills that alone raised more than $2,000. Each week, they encouraged one another to fill out their March Madness envelopes with their names and how much they contributed. It was heartwarming to receive those envelopes each day from the lower campus.

Winner

We are delighted with the outpouring of support from all sixteen teams. This effort brought forth more than $135,000 in three weeks of play and brought new players (donors) to the school, encouraged additional support from our seasoned players (returning donors), and produced a lot of friendly competition.

Thank you seems inadequate, but it is said with much appreciation to those who participated and continue to make a difference each day in the lives of our students and staff.
